Free Paw Prints Blanket/Scarf

We can't forget out 4 legged friends during the holidays!

I made this blanket for a special pet.

The FREE pattern is called Meandering Paw Prints and can be found HERE
I used the Over The Rainbow blanket pattern

There are multiple patterns available with this paw print stitch at the link above.

Materials I used:

Patons Canadiana in the colour Grape Jelly (4 balls)
5.5 mm Hook (even though the picture shows 3.5mm)
Needle
I chained a 100+2 (multiple of 20) to get the dimensions below.

Dimensions: 33" x 33"

Free Crochet Market Bag

I was in need of a birthday present this year and decided to make this bag.

The pattern can be found HERE

Materials I used:

Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Big Ball) in Blue Camo Ombre
3.75mm Hook (as suggested)
scissors
needle

The recipient loved the present! and I used up all the yarn!

Free Crochet Blanket Pattern

I found some left over yarn from another project and turned it into a crochet lapghan!

This was the first time I had tried a six sided blanket. It turned out nicely.

The FREE pattern can be found HERE

Materials I used:

5.0mm crochet hook
scissors
(4) worsted weight yarn (a bit on the thinner side)
3 colours: Burgundy, Blue, Yellow

The pattern changes colour every 3 rows, and ends on row 27.
I changed colour every 6 rows. I didn't add the border as written in the pattern.
I also, continued the pattern for 3 more rows to make it symmetrical. (30 rows total)

Dimensions: 37" x 33"

I used the waves pattern in the link (multiple of 14 stitches + 3)

Free Crochet Log Cabin Blanket Pattern

Next up, the Log Cabin Blanket crochet pattern!

The Free Log Cabin Blanket pattern can be found HERE

This is a very easy and fast pattern, if you prefer, you don't even need to change colours!

I had a fair amount of shades of blue yarn for this blanket, so I put them to good use.

There is a nice video tutorial on how to crochet the Log Cabin Blanket in the link above. Various sizes included as well.

Materials I used:

5.5mm hook
value yarn

Completed size: 32"X32"

The first and second (middle) squares I used the same colour, and ever other time I turned the blanket clockwise I changed colour.

Crochet Cardigan: Kram Cardi

I finally finished the Kram Cardi
I found it online as a FREE crochet-along
The Kram Cardi crochet-along can be found HERE

The directions and diagrams were very clear and easy to understand.
A very thorough crochet-along. It was my very first, and I would consider
following along again making the sweater in a solid colour.

I followed the instructions as stated in the pattern. I had to adjust the length, as I am short!

I used a value yarn with a 5mm Hook. The yarn I used was thicker than the one used in the pattern.

The size I crocheted based on the pattern worked out to be about a size bigger. (I.E I crocheted a size SMALL listed in the pattern, but the dimensions were a size MEDIUM)

A fun sweater that didn't take too much time at all!

A BIG thanks to the designer Katy Petersen

You can also find the Ravelry download HERE

I liked the detail on the trim so much that I made a small blanket with the same pattern and left over yarn.

The Pattern can be found HERE

The dimensions of the blanket I made were 30" X 31"
I used a 6.5 mm hook
The pattern that was used in the crochet-along was alternating SC and DC through the front loop ONLY.
Each row you would DC on the SC and SC on the DC of the previous row.

To make the blanket:

R1: CH 87

R2: Turn work. SC in second ch from hook (FRONT LOOP ONLY), *DC in the next ch, SC in the next ch. Repeat from * to the end

R3: Ch 1, turn work. SC in each DC and DC in each SC to the end. (FRONT LOOP ONLY)

Continue R3 until you have reached your desired length (in this case 30")

Free Crochet Lapghan

Another project I recently finished is a lapghan.

I used a value yarn with an 8mm Hook. It went quick.

I made it the same size as the pattern, just without a border.

Free Kitty Crochet Pattern

Another FUN project !

This time I decided to crochet a cat for my Nephew.

I tried to model it after his grandparents orange and white cat named Colt.

The FREE pattern can be found HERE

I used a much bigger hook (5mm) with thicker yarn (Bernat Handicrafter Cotton) and he turned out much larger than the pattern.

I used 2 balls (with not much to spare)

I also didn't crochet the round cheeks and just made his face with black yarn.

He turned out to be a great toy for a one and a half year old!

This shawl was nice and quick.

The free pattern can be found HERE
It is the Caron Triad Shawl

I used the same pattern (stitches and all), but used a much larger hook and yarn. I also did not add any edging or continue from the beginning of the first piece. (if you read the pattern this will make sense. This shawl is only made from side 1)

Materials:
5mm Hook
Navy and  Burgundy Value Yarn
12 blue rows (6x2 rows of pattern) each end
68 Burgundy rows (34x2 rows of pattern) (or until desired length)

 Size:
24" Width X 48" Length

*** It is long enough to lay across the bottom of a double size bed.

***Sam the cat approves of the shawl!
